It is vital that our next Mayor and Councillors have skills and experience to deal with complex issues – when considering complex legal, economic, financial and technical matters, and making sound decisions.

I am running for Mayor because want to bring my skills, expertise and experience to our community.

My work background spans large and small companies and the Australian Public Service. I have an economics degree, project management and governance qualifications, and study across a range of disciplines, such contract law, interpreting legislation, accounting, financial analysis, strategic, business and operational planning, budgeting and cash flow analysis, intellectual property, audit and risk management. I am also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

I have managed my own business, consulting to small to medium business, developing R&D projects, producing business and operational plans, and securing intellectual property rights and investment. As VP Strategic Projects in an ASX listed company, I project-managed the build of a complex manufacturing facility. I was also the Company Secretary.

In the Australian Public Service, I managed teams undertaking cost-benefit analysis of large infrastructure projects (including dams).  I negotiated the Commonwealth to State infrastructure funding agreements and represented the Commonwealth on project boards oversighting projects up to $2.0 billion.

It’s a long list – I’ve had a wonderful career!

Councils play such a large role in everyone’s daily lives.  Its main function is to support its residents and ratepayers – our community. Council must make quality decisions and maximise every opportunity to get every dollar for our community.  Our residents across Eurobodalla deserve nothing less. 

I want to contribute to my community.  As Mayor, I can steer our Council through the challenging times ahead.
